Description
Ivy Cottage is a small house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of slatestone and features a double span roof made of grouted scantle slate, with brick chimneys at the gable ends. The house has a double depth plan and stands two storeys tall. The front facing the road has two windows, which are original 2-light, 12-pane wooden casements, accompanied by louvred horizontal sliding shutters that are likely from the Victorian era. All openings are topped with cambered brick arches. The entrance door is located at the left gable end and is sheltered by a 20th-century stone porch. The garden front includes a central door within a small 20th-century extension, along with original casement windows. To the right of the door, there is a larger window that is a 15-paned fixed-light, which may have originally served as a shop. The interior has not been inspected.
