Description

Farmhouse, dating to around 1790. Described as "newly built" by the Rev. Whittaker in 1791. The farmhouse is stuccoed with Delabole slate roofs, wide eaves, lead hips, and a central brick chimney. It has a symmetrical T-shaped plan with a long rear wing. The south front has two storeys and four bays, with the central two bays projecting forward under separate hipped roofs. Flanking bays also have separate hipped roofs, creating a valley between them. A later conservatory is attached to the entrance in the angle of the left bay, and a slate-roofed porch is in the angle of the right bay. The windows are 16-panel hornless wooden sash windows set in cambered arched openings with projecting keyblocks. The stucco work is likely from the early 19th century. The interior has seen little alteration, and a bread oven survives in the kitchen of the rear wing.
