Description

Rose Cottage is a small house dating from the early 19th century, constructed of slate rubble with a slate roof featuring gabled ends and ogee cast iron gutters. The left-hand gable end has stone rubble stacks that are rendered. The layout includes two principal front rooms with a central entrance, and it is likely that there are smaller service rooms at the back. The exterior is two storeys high and symmetrical, with a three-window south front. All windows are 20th-century 12-pane sashes set in original openings with cambered stone arches and slate sills. The central doorway features a 19th-century panelled and glazed door, along with a 20th-century glazed porch. The rear elevation was not inspected, and the interior was not accessible during the survey in 1988.
