Description

The Rectory is a late 19th-century rectory, originally a private house, situated in Gerrans. It is constructed of painted slatestone rubble with a hipped scantle slate roof and one surviving brick chimney on the right side wall. The building follows a two-room, double-depth plan with a central staircase and a service wing to the rear. The north front has two storeys and three windows. One window opening on the ground floor is wider than the original; the other is original with an overlight. A flat-headed porch features octagonal columns, similar to those found in nearby Portscatho. The windows are 12-paned, horned sashes. Inside, the original staircase retains octagonal newel posts, and the doors are two-panelled with raised mouldings.
