Description

Trengrouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 1830s. It is constructed from slatestone rubble with an asbestos slate roof and brick chimneys over the gable ends. Originally a two-room, single-depth plan, the farmhouse has been extended to a double depth, incorporating a later, full-length rear outshut built in two phases. A central staircase is located towards the rear of the building.

The south front has three windows. A six-panel door with an overlight and flush beads to the lower panels is slightly off-centre to the right within the window spacing, but to the left of the overall elevation. Above the door is a matching window. The ground floor has four-pane sashes, while the first floor windows are 16-pane hornless sashes. All window and door openings are topped with flat slatestone arches. A two-storey building adjoins the left side with a two-window front. A window and door are closely spaced on the ground floor, and two-light casements are widely spaced above.
