Description
This is a mid-19th century house located to the west of April Cottage in Grampound. It features stone rubble construction with granite quoins and brick dressings, topped by a bitumenised slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The house has a gable end stack on the right and a front lateral stack on the left, both with brick shafts. The layout includes a double depth plan with two principal rooms at the front; the right room is slightly larger and heated by the gable end stack, while there are shallow service rooms at the rear.
The exterior is two storeys high with a nearly symmetrical three-window front, where all windows are slightly shifted to the left. The ground floor includes a 19th-century four-panelled door with an overlight and a cambered brick arch. There are canted bays on both sides with 19th-century four-pane sashes and sidelights, featuring modillion cornices and pilasters. The first floor has three late 19th-century margin-glazed sashes, also with cambered brick arches. The left end of the house is attached to the neighboring property, while the right end has a single light at the ground floor and another at the attic level. The interior has not been inspected.
