Description

Numbers 108 to 120 (even) and attached front basement area railings form a terrace of seven houses built around 1820, with some rebuilding work undertaken in 1994. The houses are constructed of brick with limestone dressings, although numbers 116 and 118 are stucco-faced and believed to be designed by the architect Henry Rumley. They feature party wall stacks and a roof that is not visible. These are double-depth plan houses built in a Late Georgian style.

Each house has three storeys and a one-window range, except for number 112, which has two windows to the upper floors. Strip pilasters are present at the party walls, along with a cornice and parapet. The left-hand doorways are semicircular-arched, with open pediments on triglyphs to numbers 108, 110, 112, and 114; numbers 116 and 118 lack pediments; and number 120 features small brackets. The doors are six-panelled with fanlights. The windows are 8/8-pane sashes with flat heads to numbers 116 and 118 and five stepped voussoirs to the others.

The interior has not been inspected.

Attached to the front of the terrace are wrought-iron railings enclosing the basement area.

The terrace was built along the New Cut, which was constructed in 1809.
