Description

This is a terrace of nine houses built around 1820, located on York Road in Bedminster, Bristol. The houses are made of brick with limestone dressings, featuring party wall stacks and a pantile roof. They are designed in a late Georgian style with a double-depth plan. Most of the houses are two storeys tall, with Nos. 42, 52, and 58 having three storeys, while No. 42 has two windows. The façade is enhanced by strip pilasters leading to a cornice and parapet. The semicircular-arched doorways are topped with open pediments on brackets, and each house has a six-panel door with a fanlight above. The windows have segmental heads and plate-glass sashes, some of which include glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there are attached wrought-iron railings for the basement area. The terrace was built along the New Cut, which was established in 1809.
