Description

Ashley Hill House, which includes Ashley Hill Cottage, is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, located on Old Ashley Hill in Montpelier, Bristol. It is a double-depth plan building constructed of brick with limestone detailing, and has a roof that is not visible from street level. The house is three storeys high and has a three-window front. The architectural style is Late Georgian. A central doorway has a keyed semicircular arch, a plain fanlight, and ashlar lintels. The windows are 8/8-pane sashes, with the central windows now blocked. A late 19th-century canted bay window extends from the ground floor. To the right is a two-storey block with a pantile mansard roof and a rubbed brick lintel above a 6/6-pane sash window. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
