Description

This is a terrace of four houses built around 1840, located on Ashley Road in Montpelier, Bristol. The houses are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature brick stacks, although the roof is not visible. They have a double-depth plan and are designed in a late Georgian style, with three storeys and a basement. Each house has a two-window range, with a rusticated ground floor that includes a sill band, flat pilasters at the party walls, a frieze, cornice, and parapet. The left-hand doorways have cornices supported by moulded consoles and rectangular overlights, with 20th-century doors and 6/6-pane sash windows that have margin bars. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there are attached front garden walls and piers that feature round-topped panels and pedimented caps.
