Description

Number 27 is an attached house located on Somerset Street in Kingsdown, dating from the late 18th century. The building features a rendered exterior with limestone dressings and has a double-depth plan in the late Georgian style. It stands three storeys high with a basement and has a three-window range. The parapet has moulded coping, and the gables are coped. Notably, the left-hand window and the doorway are set back from the front. The entrance is highlighted by a pedimented doorcase with pilasters and foliate panels on the entablature, a four-light fanlight, and a six-panel door. The front ground floor includes six-over-six pane sashes and plate sashes with horizontal bars. The interior has not been inspected. The property also features subsidiary elements such as a flagged front area with wrought-iron railings and urn finials, Pennant steps, wreathed railings at the doorway, and railings leading down to the basement steps.
