Description

Number 11 is a late 18th-century attached house situated on Somerset Street in Kingsdown, Bristol. The house is rendered with limestone dressings and has a pantile roof. It follows a double-depth plan and is built in a late Georgian style. The building is three storeys high with a basement and attic, and features a two-window range. A moulded parapet coping is accentuated by pilasters. The right-hand doorways have consoles supporting a pediment above, with a moulded, keyed semicircular arch over the entrance and a fanlight above the door, which is a six-panel design. A full-height canted ashlar bay window projects over the basement, with 8/8-pane sashes flanked by 6/6-pane sashes. The upper storeys also have 8/8-pane sashes. The interior, which was not inspected, includes a dogleg staircase with stick balusters at the front of the house. Original wrought-iron railings and gates, featuring urn finials, are in front of the property.
