Description

Number 36 is a mid-19th century attached house on Kingsdown Parade in Bristol. The front is stuccoed with limestone dressings, while the sides have black brick rendering. The building has a double-depth plan and consists of two storeys and a basement, with a two-window front. Pilasters extend to a cornice and parapet. The right-hand doorway features consoles supporting a canopy, a rectangular overlight, and a three-panel door. The windows have stone architraves with shoulders, ears and keys, and are tripartite on the ground floor with sash windows containing horizontal bars. Inside, the entrance hall leads to an open-well staircase with turned balusters, a modillion cornice, and six-panel doors. The cast-iron front area railings are topped with pineapple finials, and a curved gate provides access to steps leading to the basement.
