Description

The forecourt piers and wall to Nexus Methodist Church (Walcot Building) date from around 1815. This low coped wall, made of limestone ashlar, is approximately 30 meters long and features a restored design with chamfered coping and a plinth. The wall is stepped down from the right and has three panels on each side of the center. At both ends and the center, there are substantial flat-topped cylindrical piers adorned with foliate bands above cornices, ornamental panels on the shafts, and wrought iron scrolled lamp brackets that flank 20th-century gates. To the west, there is a similar pier topped with a large urn. The wall is complemented by 20th-century railings.
