Description
The piers and walls located to the west and south of Christ Church are structures dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar. The walls feature pecked chamfered coping, from which railings have been removed, leading to a low wall.
To the south, there are two tall gate piers and two slightly lower flanking piers, all made of rusticated ashlar, complete with plinths, cornices, and ball finials, providing both carriage and pedestrian entrances. The piers to the east include a carriage entrance designed in a similar style, but without rustication. Additionally, a lower pier to the south-east marks the termination of the churchyard wall, featuring a horizontally-placed console on a pilaster at its eastern side.
