Description

Nos. 2 and 3 Spring Terrace are a pair of houses dating from around 1830, located on the east side of Spring Terrace, North Shields. The houses are constructed of English garden wall bond brickwork with painted ashlar dressings and a rendered plinth. They have a Welsh slate roof and brick chimneys. Each house is two storeys high and has two bays. Each house features a door in the first bay, with a six-panelled door at No. 2 and a half-glazed door at No. 3, both set within flat Tuscan doorcases and featuring overlights. Sash windows with glazing bars are present at No. 3. A sill band and wedge stone lintels are visible on the windows. The low-pitched roof has a truncated end chimney on the right side and a corniced ashlar chimney on the left.
