GV II

End of terrace house. Early C19. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, hipped slate mansard roof with three dormers and stacks to rear against No.5 Nelson Place East(qv). PLAN: Three unit plan. EXTERIOR: Three storeys with attic, symmetrical three-window front. Returned coped parapet, cornice, ground floor platband and banded rustication. Six/six-pane sash windows, that to first floor centre has cornice on consoles. To centre of ground floor are Tuscan pilasters supporting double-stepped frieze and cornice. Right return on London Road has blind window to centre of second floor and six/six-pane sashes below. INTERIOR: Not inspected. HISTORY: Probably built as minister's house for the adjacent Walcot Methodist Church (qv).
