Description
No. 3 Whiterock Terrace is a house in a terrace built around the 1830s. It is constructed of slatestone rubble and has a rag slate roof with gable ends. There are brick axial stacks on both the right and left sides of the house. The layout features a double-depth plan with a central entrance that leads into a passage with a stair at the rear. The front of the house has two reception rooms heated by stacks that are shared with the adjoining properties, No. 2 and No. 4 Whiterock Terrace. At the rear, there are service rooms and a small 19th-century wing with a single room plan on the left.
The exterior is two stories high and has a symmetrical three-window front with brick segmental arches over the openings. There is a central 19th-century open porch supported by Tuscan columns, leading to a panelled door. On either side of the porch, there are late 19th-century canted bay windows. The first floor features three 19th-century hornless 12-pane sash windows.
The interior has not been inspected but is likely to retain some original internal features and joinery. This house is part of an unaltered 19th-century terrace, which includes Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4 Whiterock Terrace, as well as a wall to the northeast of Whiterock Terrace.
