Description

A pair of houses forming a terrace, dating to the 1830s. The buildings are constructed of slatestone rubble with a rag slate roof, featuring a half-hipped end on the left and a gable end on the right. A brick axial stack is located on the right side.

The houses have a double-depth, two-room plan, with entrances in the centre of each property, leading to a passage and a staircase. Externally, the two-storey buildings with a cellar have a regular three-window front featuring brick segmental arches over the openings. A late 19th-century open porch with two Tuscan columns provides access to a pair of 19th-century panelled doors. A late 19th-century canted bay window is on the left, and a 12-pane hornless sash window is on the right. The first floor has three 12-pane hornless sash windows. A 19th-century stair window with Gothic intersecting glazing bars is present at the rear of the second house.

The interior has not been inspected but likely retains original internal features and joinery. The pair form part of an unaltered 19th-century terrace, along with numbers 3, 4, and 5 Whiterock Terrace, and a wall located to the northeast of Whiterock Terrace.
