Description

A pair of houses in a terrace, dating to around 1840, located in Wadebridge. The houses are constructed of slatestone rubble with a rag slate roof and gable ends. Brick stacks are positioned axially to the left and in the centre.

The layout is of a two-room, double-depth plan for each house, with an entrance on the right leading into a passage and beyond, to the staircase. The front left contains a reception room heated by an axial stack, while a service room is located to the rear.

The two-storey, asymmetrical three-window front features brick segmental arches over the openings. Number 4 on the left has a late 19th-century canted bay window and a 19th-century panelled door on the ground floor, with two hornless 12-pane sash windows on the first floor. Number 5 on the right also features a late 19th-century canted bay window and a 19th-century panelled door on the ground floor, paired with a hornless 12-pane sash window on the first floor.

The interior has not been inspected, but likely retains original internal features and joinery. The houses are part of an unaltered 19th-century terrace and are situated alongside numbers 1 and 2, number 3, and a wall to the northeast of Whiterock Terrace.
