Description
A row of seven cottages built in the early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed of limestone ashlar, with painted ashlar and slate roofs to numbers 99-103, and pantile roofs to the front and concrete tile roofs to the rear of the others. They have moulded stacks in the party walls and gable ends. The cottages have double-depth plans with various rear extensions. They are two storeys high and have one or two windows each. Stone hoods are above the windows, supported by shaped brackets, paired over numbers 107 and 109. Number 107 also incorporates the space of a former rear passage and is two windows wide. Numbers 111 and 113 flank a rear passage and have a triple hood which also covers the entrance to the passage. The cottages have 20th-century doors and a mix of 19th and 20th-century windows, mostly sash windows with two-over-two, six-over-six, or eight-over-eight panes. Numbers 91 and 93 have wrought iron 'S' shapes at the ends of their tie-bars. The interiors have not been inspected. The cottages are included in the listing for their group value.
