Description

This is an early 19th century row of two-storey cottages, with some elements dating to an earlier period. The buildings are constructed from a mix of materials: ashlar, brick, and painted surfaces. Cottages 80 to 89 have pilaster strips and bands above the ground floor. The roofs are covered with double roman tile and slate, and feature brick chimneys. Each cottage has a single range of windows, with some retaining original sash windows with glazing bars. The doorways are plain, except for numbers 78 and 79, which have round-headed doorways with moulded imposts, keys and stone rustic voussoirs to the windows. Numbers 90 to 92 have six-panel doors with raised and fielded panels, and stone brackets to the gutter, with two windows in each cottage. Numbers 78 to 92 form a group of buildings with group value.
