Description
This is a range of early 19th-century cottages at 7 to 13 Burghley Lane. The cottages are built of rubble with rusticated quoins. They are two storeys high, with one window on each floor. Each window has a flat arch with a keystone and a stone, rusticated architrave, fitted with double-hung sashes and glazing bars. A stone plinth runs along the base. Most of the doors are modern, but those at numbers 8, 9, and 11 retain their original form as four-panelled doors. Numbers 3 and 9 feature ornamented, glazed, rectangular fanlights, while the others have plain fanlights. Brick chimneys are present. Inset foot scrapers are set into the front of the building. The cottages are listed due to their significance as an unusual group with numbers 1 and 2.
