Description

35 St Martin’s is an early to mid-18th century building of two storeys and attics. It is constructed of ashlar with coursed rubble to the sides, featuring three cambered dormers. The building incorporates rusticated quoins and a dentil eaves cornice. There are five windows, each a double-hung sash with glazing bars, large triple keystones, and rusticated architraves. Bands are present at sill level. A rusticated doorway is topped with a moulded pediment and multiple keystones. The door itself consists of six fielded panels, surmounted by a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. The interior contains a staircase dating from the period, along with some panelled rooms, though no fireplaces remain. An inset foot scraper is also present. The building is part of a group that includes numbers 18 to 38 (consecutive) and the Church of St Martin.
