Description
Lower Swainswick House is a detached house built around 1800, with 20th-century additions. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a double-pitched slate roof with moulded stacks at the coped gable ends. The house has a double depth plan and stands two storeys high with a semi-basement. The exterior is symmetrical with a three-window range. It has a coped parapet, cornice, and a first-floor platband. The windows are late 19th or early 20th century horned six-over-six pane sash windows, with 20th-century louvered shutters on the first floor. A set of steps, flanked by wrought iron railings, leads up to a wide four-panel door that has semicircular heads over glazed upper panels and a four-pane overlight. There is also a 20th-century glazed porch. The interior has not been inspected.
