Description
Zion Chapel is a Methodist chapel dated 1853, located on the north side of High Street in Twerton. The building features a front made of limestone ashlar, with rubble on the sides and a slate roof. It is a single-room chapel with a lean-to addition at the rear right. The exterior is two storeys high and includes three round-arched windows above two rectangular lights, all adorned with geometric leading to tinted glass. There is a central enclosed porch with a pair of flush three-panel doors set in a square opening, featuring stopped chamfered jambs and lintel, with incised panels on either side, a simple cornice, and a small blocking course with a raised centre. The main block has a moulded cornice and a pediment gable. On the right return, there is a large central arched light in a flat ashlar surround, along with a small ridge vent. The interior has not been inspected.
