Description

Ebenezer Chapel is a Methodist chapel, now used as sale rooms, built in 1834. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a concrete tile roof and is a single storey building featuring three sash windows with radial bars above arched heads. The central entrance consists of a pair of three-panel fielded doors set in an ashlar porch, which has a coped gable supported by moulded kneelers. On the return wall facing Vicarage Street, there is one deep arched sash window. The main front has a coped parapet that rises to a central pediment, and the windows are adorned with flush voussoirs. The entire structure is set on a rubble plinth and holds a significant visual position, marking the end of a vista along St Mary's Street. The interior has been modified for its current use.
