Description
Westholme is a large house located on the west side of Bisley Street in Painswick. It is the right half of a pair and dates from the early 18th century, with an upper facade added in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar and has a concrete tile roof.
The house is a small one-bay structure with three floors. On the ground floor, there is a cross-mullioned two-light chamfered mullion casement window on the right, which is situated beneath a plat band. The first floor features a 12-pane sash window, while the second floor has a blocked opening; all these windows have plain stone cills and simple reveals. To the left of the windows is a part-glazed six-panel door, framed by an eared architrave with a triple projecting keystone, set against a pulvinated frieze and topped with a moulded closed pediment.
The right gable of the house has some flush blocked openings, and the rear includes a two-light chamfered mullion casement window. There is a gable stack present. The doorway may have been added by the builder of the adjacent property, Selsdon, as they share similar details.
