Description
11 and 12 High Street are a pair of houses located in Twerton, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The front is made of limestone ashlar, with rubble on the sides and a pantile roof. The buildings are two storeys high and feature four windows with irregularly spaced plain sashes set in reveals; the window on the right is a paired sash.
No. 12 has a mid-19th century shopfront that is symmetrical, with a recessed glazed door flanked by angled sections and three lights on each side. The panes are divided by thin colonnettes leading to capitals and flat arched heads, with small decorated spandrels, a stall-riser, and a plain fascia. No. 11 has a central door with plain square display windows on either side. The left gable is coped and features an ashlar stack with a skirt and simple cornice capping, while the right gable is plain and has a modified rendered stack. The interior has not been inspected.
