BATHFORD C.P. CHURCH STREET (North-west side) Boundary wall and two sets of gatepiers to Bidston and No 31 (Bathford House)

Boundary wall, formerly to Bathford House (demolished), now to Bidston and Bathford House (former stable block). Late C18th. Rubble exterior, ashlar interior, coped. Ramped down Ostlings Lane and terminates at beginning of Church Close in two capped gatepiers. At Bathford House (No. 31 Church Street) are 2 further gatepiers; rusticated with moulded cornice and egg-shaped finial. From north pier the wall returns, ramped down to an ashlar doorcase with a pediment (said to be the door to Bathford House, now demolished).
