SOUTHGATE 1. 972 (West - Side) Nos 16 to 18 (consec) SU 8504 SE 18/291 II GV 2. Range of small C18-early c19 houses. 3 storeys each, immediately adjoining and to the north of Nos 13-15; higher frontage but with 1st floor windows roughly in alignment with 1st floor windows of No 13-15. Tiled hipped roof; 3 hipped gables with modillions. Sandstone rubble with brick quoins and brick dressings; 1 window

bay to each house, Windows in frames; square heads to second Floor windows; segmental heads and rubbed brick voussoirs to 1st floor windows. Sash windows with glazing bars intact on 1st floor at northern end. C20 shop fronts to numbers 17 and 18; C19 shop front to No 16.

Nos 13 to 18 (consec) form a group.
