Description

No. 42 Southgate is a pair of houses built in the 19th century, featuring a similar frontage to the adjacent Nos. 39 to 41. The houses consist of two parallel ranges and have two windows on both the first and second floors. The ground and first floor windows have been enlarged at a later date and are set in frames, with painted relieving arches above them. Access to the doorway is via four steps, and the door, which is set in reveals, has six panels and a semi-circular fanlight; however, the doorcase is now missing. Nos. 36 to 42 Southgate form a group.
