Description
No 6 St Augustine's Road is a building from the 1860s, constructed by local builder Robert Bushby. It is part of a row that includes Nos 45 to 47 South Terrace. The building is three storeys high with a basement and features stuccoed façades, while Nos 45-47 are finished in cement. The design includes reflected pairs of windows, with one sash window and three sash windows in full height canted bays. The ground floor has horizontal channelling, and there is a string course above the centre windows of the canted bays, which are adorned with bracketed entablatures. The building has a bedmould to the mutule cornice and a parapet. The entrance to No 6 is located on St Augustine's Road, where there is one sash window and three sash windows in a full height bow. The ground floor features horizontal grooving, with archivolts and a head keystone above the central entrance arch, along with a cornice and parapet. Additionally, No 6 has a lower three-storey extension with one window, horizontal channelling, and a ramped wall leading to the garden. Nos 30 to 47 South Terrace form a group with this building.
