Description

These are two early Victorian buildings, dating to circa 1858, situated on Western Road. They are three-storey structures, each originally containing two windows. One window of each building is a two-storey, three-light canted bay, which features a fringed canopy. The roofs are hipped and covered with slate. The buildings are constructed of stucco. Number 1 has a pilastered doorcase topped with an entablature. Number 3 incorporates a late 19th-century shop front, cut into the canted bay, and features pilasters and brackets adorned with palmettes. Numbers 1 and 3 are part of a group of properties, numbers 5, 7, 9, and 15 to 23, which are considered to have local interest.
