Description

This is a mid-19th century pair of stuccoed buildings, numbers 1 and 3 Clifton Crescent, Folkestone. They are three storeys high with a basement and attics, and have a slate mansard roof. Number 1 has a three-floor square bay window. The second floor has a three-light sash window, while the ground and first floors have two-sash windows with vertical glazing only. A doorcase on the right side features a triglyph frieze and partially fluted pilasters. Number 3 has a matching three-storey extension with a window arrangement of one, two, and two windows. A one-storey extension with a canted bay window projects from the left side of number 1. This extension is decorated with rusticated and vermiculated pilasters featuring Ionic capitals and a dentil cornice. Numbers 1 to 11 (odd) and number 12B form a group with numbers 15 to 31 (odd).
