Description

This is a pair of mid-19th century houses located on Clifton Crescent in Folkestone. They are three storeys high with a basement and attics, and are constructed of stuccoed walls with a slate mansard roof featuring four dormers. The windows are predominantly sash windows; there are two sashes and two three-light bays in total. The building is distinguished by rusticated quoins and string courses marking the floors. The second-floor windows have a rounded head, while the first-floor windows are framed by architraves. The central windows of the first-floor bays are topped with pediments, and the side windows have cornices. Iron flower guards are attached to the ground and first-floor windows. The ground-floor windows have cambered heads with keystones. Simple doorcases are set to the sides within rusticated surrounds. Nos 11 and 12B are part of a wider group of buildings that includes Nos 1 to 11 (odd) and Nos 15 to 31 (odd) on Clifton Crescent.
