Description

Number 9 Clifton Crescent is a house dating to approximately 1860, built as part of a terrace. It is three storeys high with attics and a basement, and is constructed of stucco. The roof is a Mansard style covered in slate, with two dormers each topped with a pediment. The corners of the building feature decorative vermiculated quoins. The facade has a three-light sash window running through all floors. The second-floor windows are round-headed. On the first floor, a single sash window is flanked by two blank panels, above which are a cornice and brackets. A pediment sits over the centre of a canted bay window. The ground floor features a three-light cambered sash window and cambered windows to the bay. Cast iron flower guards are positioned below the ground and first-floor windows. Porches are incorporated into side extensions. Number 9 is part of a group that includes numbers 1 to 11 (the odd numbers) and number 12B, along with numbers 15 to 31 (the odd numbers).
