Description

This is a pair of mid-19th century townhouses located on Clifton Crescent in Folkestone. The buildings are three storeys high with a basement and attics, and are constructed of stuccoed walls with a slate mansard roof pierced by four dormers. The front elevation features two-over-two pane sash windows and two three-light basement windows. Rusticated quoins emphasize the corners, and string courses run between the floors. The second-floor windows are round-headed, while the first-floor windows have architraves. The central windows of each bay are topped with pediments, and the side windows have cornices. Cast iron flower guards are present on the ground and first-floor windows. Ground-floor windows have cambered heads with keystones. Number 19 has a doorcase with pilasters and a round-headed fanlight above the door. Numbers 19 and 21 are part of a larger group that includes numbers 1 to 11 (odd), number 12B, and numbers 15 to 31 (odd).
