Description

Early 19th century terraced cottages at numbers 13 to 25 Orchard Place. They are built of nodular flint with brick dressings and chimneys, and have pitched slate roofs. The cottages are two storeys high, with a brick modillion eaves cornice. They contain a range of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, although windows on the ground floor of numbers 23 and 25 are blocked. Numbers 13, 17, 23 and 25 have six-panelled doors. The doorways of numbers 23 and 25 have wooden surrounds with panelled reveals, incised line decoration on the pilasters and frieze, and triangular pediments. Doorways of numbers 15 and 19 are sheltered by gabled hoods. Numbers 1 to 25 form a group.
