Description

The Mount Pleasant numbers 1 to 17 form an early 19th-century terrace of cottages. The cottages are built of flint, with some areas using nodular flint (numbers 1 to 5) and others using beach flint (numbers 7 to 17), and have red brick dressings. Numbers 1 to 7 include grey brick headers. Brick chimneys rise from the roofs, which are covered in slate. Each cottage has two storeys and a single window range. All windows are double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, with the exception of the first-floor window of number 13, which is a casement window. Numbers 11 and 13 have doors sheltered by gabled hoods supported on wooden consoles, and number 15 has an oblong fanlight above the door. A brick modillion eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. A red brick garden wall runs in front of the terrace. Numbers 1 to 23 (odd) and associated posts form a group.
