Description
St Mary's Gate Public House is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of London Road. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a hipped slate roof with yellow brick chimneys, one of which has a brick modillion cornice. The building stands two storeys tall and has a brick modillion eaves cornice.
The north elevation includes two sets of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars and a door that has two moulded and fielded panels, with the top half being glazed and a pediment supported by elaborate consoles. The east elevation has several ranges of double-hung sash windows, although one range is blocked, and it features louvred shutters. There is also a one-storey extension to the west, which has two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars.
