Description

The cemetery cross in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, dating from the late 19th century, is likely designed by J A Hansom. It features a gabled stone cross-head, with a relief of the crucified Christ on the south face and a relief of the Madonna and Child on the north face. The cross-head is supported by a tapering stone shaft, which has inset tooth-ornament on each of its four sides and a foliated capital. The structure stands on a square stone base with stops at the angles, above five stone octagonal steps.
