Description

Old Swan Cottages is a mid-18th century house with a 19th-century extension to the left. The house is constructed of red brick with an incised plaster eaves cornice and a plain tiled mansard roof with gable parapets and an end stack. There are two 20th-century flat-headed dormers. The front has a slightly irregular three-window facade with sash windows, except for the first-floor window in the left wing, which is a wooden casement. A glazed door is located to the right of the left wing, and a doorway with non-opening glazing is to the right of the centre on the right-hand block. A one-storey lean-to extension sits to the left. A two-storey wing to the rear has a combination half-hipped and hipped mansard roof. The group value of this building lies in its contribution to the character of the surrounding area.
