Description
The Manor House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with an addition built in the early to mid-19th century. It is located on the west side of Church Street, Shoreham-by-Sea. The house is built of coursed cobbles with painted brick quoins and dressings. The right-hand block has a painted brick eaves cornice and a plain tiled roof, while the left-hand wing has a brick modillion eaves cornice and a slate roof at a shallower angle. There are end stacks, a gabled dormer on the right-hand block, and a stack to the left-hand wing. The house is two storeys high with an attic on the left. The right-hand block is symmetrical with three windows, while the left-hand wing has one window and a small window in the angle between the blocks. Sashes without glazing bars, with segmental heads and brick bands above, are on the ground floor to the right. Sashes are present in the front face of the left-hand wing. The main entrance is to the left of the right-hand block, featuring a panelled door in an arched surround, flanked inside shallow reveals by wooden pilasters, and a radiating fanlight.
