Description
The Royal Sovereign is a mid-18th century house, later adapted for use as a public house. It is constructed of flint with red brick dressings and quoins, with the ground floor facing finished with green glazed tiles. A red brick eaves cornice sits above a tiled mansard roof, which has gable parapets and end stacks. The building has two storeys and originally had a three-window front, though the central first-floor window has been blocked. It features glazing bar sashes with flat-arched, gauged heads. The ground floor has three half-glazed doors, separated by windows with early 20th century stained and decorative glazing.
