Description
Hoyle Cottage and the adjoining cottage are two houses that date back to the 17th century, with extensions added in the 19th century. The original structure is timber framed with thin scantling, featuring a sandstone plinth and whitewashed roughcast infilling and cladding. The left gable displays some club and fishscale pattern tile hanging, while the right gable has plain tile hanging, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. The building has two storeys and two gable ends, with an attic window on the right. There is a large multiple stack located to the right of the center. On the right gable, there is one three-light window on the first floor and a five-light window on the ground floor. The left gable has one window on the first floor, along with a three-light window to the left of center. Additional windows are present between the floors and on the ground floor to the left of center. A part-glazed door is situated to the right of center. The left-hand return front features two gables and one pentice dormer, with irregular window arrangements.
