Description
Milk Hill is a house with an attached shop or studio, dating from the 17th century with 19th-century extensions. The building is timber framed and has a base made of red and blue brick, with roughcast cladding above that has been colourwashed. It features plain tiled roofs, including a fine fishscale tile hung gable on the left side. The structure has a T-shaped plan, with a wing that projects towards the street, positioned left of center. It stands two storeys high with deep eaves on the left-hand wing. There is a rear stack located at the center. On the right-hand wing, there is one leaded 3-light window, and one window on each floor of the right-hand return front gable end. The left wing has one first-floor window above a part-glazed door, which is sheltered by a pentice roofed porch. To the left of the main building, there is a single-storey gallery or shop range that runs parallel to the street, constructed of brick and covered by a plain tiled roof, although this part is not considered of special interest.
