Description

This building is a barn, now used as a garage, located in the grounds of The Old Rectory in Ewhurst. It dates from the 17th or early 18th century and was restored in the 20th century. The structure is timber framed with thin scantling, featuring 20th-century brick infilling and weatherboarded ends. It has a plain tiled half-hipped roof and consists of five framed bays, with tension bracing to the right on the first floor. The left end bay was formerly a granary and is supported on staddles due to the sloping ground. The first floor has four fixed oval casements, with two on either side of the central double doors. The roof includes queen struts.
