Description

The Sun Inn Public House is a building that combines a house and a cottage, dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The cottage on the left is constructed of brown brick with tile hanging above, extending over the ground floor, and features a plain tiled roof. It is two storeys high, with two plain casement windows on the first floor and two casement windows on the ground floor, which have a central mullion in the top light. There is a central panelled door and a stack located at the right end where it joins the public house.

The public house is a taller structure with a stack at the junction with the cottage and an end stack to the right. It has three glazing bar sash windows on the first floor; the outer windows are 20-pane, while the centre window is 16-pane, all set under gauged brick heads. Across the ground floor, there is a wooden frontispiece beneath a slate roof, along with two 20th-century bow windows featuring bottle glass. The front also includes pilaster strips and dosserets with an entablature above. To the left end, there is an arched and panelled door reveal with a six-panel door topped by a fanlight. In the centre, there are paired arched and panelled doors in a similar surround. Inside, the partition wall is made of thin framing with colourwashed brick infill.
