Description
Chart Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 16th century on the right side, with a 17th century extension to the center left and a 1930s extension on the left end. The front is made of red 18th century brick and features tile hanging, with parts of the structure being timber framed. The roofs are plain tiled and half-hipped on the right side, creating a T-shaped plan. The building has two storeys and a massive chimney on the right with offsets beneath a corbelled top. There are additional corbelled stacks on the rear left and an end stack on the right. The eaves are adorned with brick dentils in the center and left sections. The first floor has three 3-light diamond-pane, leaded casement windows, while the ground floor features two cambered head windows, including one that is a 7-light window. Each floor of the right-hand projecting half-hipped wing has one 3-light window. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels and is topped with a flat hood supported by scroll brackets.
